2016 Majorca Trip.
Arrived at Majorca late Saturday so decided to dump the cases in the apartment and go for a few beers (picture above).
Day 1 : Sant Elm (40 miles and 3066ft of climbing)
Since we had to put the bikes together we decided to have a cafe stop first, this is where we met Matt Barker Quick and he joined us on most of the rides. We choose the usual first day ride up Calvia and round to Port of Andratx but added a loop to the small coastal resort of Sant Elm.
Pictures above are left – island off Sant Elm , middle – cafe stop Sant Elm and right – Calvia top (Pete won to the top)
Day 2 : Orient ride in reverse (76 miles and 4155ft of climbing)
Excellent climbing especially by Pete, above is the best cafe stop by far 7 euros each for 3 course meal with drinks included. Mick showed us all how to ride downhill as usual.
Day 3 : Randa (74 miles and 3703ft of climbing)
A trip to Majorca is not the same without a monestry climb, so we choose Randa.
Day 4:Valldermossa (50 miles and 4305ft of climbing)
A short ride to Vallermossa but very hilly, a small village had a group on and locals danced while shopping.
Day 5 : Palma (28 miles and 1562ftof climbing)
A short ride to Palma cycle shop – No Pete (tiring at 4 days winning hills) or Mick (apartment business to sort).
Day 6 : Coastal Route (56 miles and 5486ft of climbing)
A favorite ride of all riders, beutiful scenary and lots of lovely hills. We stopped at the usual cafe in Estrellencs. Pete was begining to fade now on the hills and John Matt and Mick won most of the climbs.
Day 7 : Santa Maria (73miles and 2817ft of climbing)
We decided to have a day with very few major climbs so a ride out to Santa Maria was chosen with a short trip to the bike shop at Binisealem.
Day 8: Calvia (34miles and 2490ft of climbing)
For the final ride with us all present we decided on a short but fairly hilly ride taking in Calvia top and Galilea.
And the final drink ends the Majorca tour …. Well done to the following
Best hill Climber – Pete Lees.
Best down hill specialist – Mick Wainwright
Overall rider of the week – Mick Tipper.

Added the details of some of the rides from Garmin data.
This year we had some riders with a few illnesses (some self inflicted) and thus we did not take in the “Sa Colabra” – it will still be there next year.
Below are pictures from the various rides..
As usual we had a final evening presentation meal at the Italian resturant and the awards for the first 8 days of riding went to the following riders:
Majorca event organisor – Mick Wainwright ( without Mick none of this would be possible) – runner up Pete Lees.
Strongest Rider (especially on the hills) – Matt Farmer – runner up Mick Wainwright.
Rider of the week – John Walker (excellent effort) – runner up Mick Wainwright.
Excellent holiday – All enjoyed this excellent tour, again no accidents, no punctures and lots of laughs.
